Annual Spaghetti Dinner
This congregational event began in 1979 with the youth holding a fund raiser for summer camp. This event continues to be our fundraiser for many needs. The dinner is held on the third Sunday in March each year. Serving times are from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Proceeds are used for projects or ministries.
Soup N' Sandwich Supper
Each Maundy Thursday (the Thursday prior to Easter) the Outreach Committee sponsors a Soup N' Sandwich Supper to raise money to enhance the outreach ministries of Trinity.
Community Meals
The Versailles Community Meals are served on the first Wednesday of each month from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church.
General Info
Meals are served every Wednesday from 5:00 until 6:00 in the Trinity Lutheran Church basement Dining Room. This is Dine-In Only. Meals may be delivered for those who are home bound or senior citizens. Please call the church phone at 937-467-6495 by noon for delivery, leaving your name, telephone number, address and how many meals. Meals will be canceled if the Versailles Schools are closed for bad weather or for a holiday.
The Story
After several months of discussions, planning and prayers, The Outreach Committee of Trinity Lutheran Church decided to try "Community Meals" instead of a "Soup Kitchen" and began serving their first meal on January 10, 2007. The thoughts were to serve all people, to build community, provide fellowship and feed the hungry. The hope was that 50 to 60 meals would be served once a month. However, the ministry rapidly grew.
In a short time, more and more meals were served and more and more local congregations and civic groups offered to participate.
The meals are prepared in Trinity's kitchen and served in the church basement's dining room.
In 2019, meals were cancelled for several months due to Covid. In September 2021, Midmark Corporation took over preparing the meals on the first Wednesday of each month. These meals continue in 2026.
